Are you a thrill seeker? If so, there are many others like you. However, if you want to thrill seek in luxury, then you’re definitely a rare breed and that’s a cool thing to be. This article was written for people just like you – the daring who choose to dare in style. If you want your adrenaline to flow faster than it ever has before and your life to be in potential danger while looking and feeling like James Bond, then it’s recommended that you read on. Just keep one thing in mind. The risks you take from this list are the risks you take on your own. There are not to be considered travel tips. Now let’s get to it and take a look at 7 Extremely Dangerous Luxury Experiences.

7. Park Tyrona – Colombia

If you’re looking for the most beautiful and unspoiled tropical scenery in the world, then it’s mandatory that you visit Park Tayrona. You will never find a crowd here and it’s easy to find. You can even take a taxi from the Eco-Habs Hotel, which happens to be the only luxury resort in the area. Once at Park Tyrona, you can relax on the sand or on a luxurious hammock. So you might be wondering about the dangers. There are two major dangers to consider. One is that kidnappings are still common in Colombia. Therefore, that taxi ride from the hotel to the beach might be a nerve-wracking one. While you’re in that taxi, be sure to remind yourself that a month from now you could be the subject of a proof-of-life negotiation. If you do happen to make it to the beach, then you would have made it to one of the most dangerous swimming areas in the world. Yes, the water and currents are that rough. Only few brave and survive it.

6. Greenland

Greenland might not strike you as a dangerous place, but searching for glaciers and icebergs on a luxury cruise is a lot more dangerous than it sounds. Why? Because you can barely see the tips of icebergs from the surface of the water, which makes navigation close to impossible. Not to mention some of the coldest and wettest weather you will ever experience. That said, these cruises offer wonderful views and cocktails.

5. High Stakes Poker at the Bellagio

This isn’t a life-threatening experience, but you could lose your life savings in less than 3 hours. Is it worth it? Yes. You can’t play football with Aaron Rogers or basketball with LeBron James. However, you can play poker with the best players in the world. Take a seat, hit the felt and prepare to get clobbered, unless you can find your inner-Bond, of course.

4. African Safari

Many people say that an African safari is 100% safe. They have no idea what they’re talking about. Any time you’re amongst lions, leopards, hippos and crocodiles, you’re far from safe. Ironically, the safest part of the trip is often on the safari. It’s when you’re camping in your luxury tents that you should worry. You should especially be careful near the water. This is where the hippos and crocs lurk.

3. Haiti

If you’re a do-gooder and you would like to travel to Haiti to offer assistance, then you might be out of your mind. People are kidnapped while taking a taxi from the airport on a regular basis. In some cases, the drivers of the taxis are in on it. If not, they’re killed because they’re witnesses. Traveling with at least one other person will help improve your odds of survival. This trip still falls into the luxury category because of the Villa Creole, which is one of the nicest hotels on the planet. The food, pool and service are all a 10.

2. Maldives

You might enjoy staying at a beautiful island resort, but what about after you find out that these resorts employ hundreds of criminals who were released in 2008? These are thieves, rapists and murderers. In the past few years, three multiple murders

of resort guests have taken place and none have been solved. Drug use among resort employees is also rampant.

1. Cape Town, South Africa

You might hear mixed reviews of Cape Town. That’s because it depends how wise people were when they traveled to Cape Town. If they stuck to their resort and local beaches, then they saw Cape Town as a safe place. If they ventured into unknown areas, then they reported being happy that they escaped with their lives. For all of you who think Cape Town is safe, this city averages 50 murders per day. The resorts and scenery are amazing, but the risk is enormous.

Which of these 7 Extremely Dangerous Luxury Experiences are you willing to take on? If you choose any or all of these experiences, be sure to report back and leave some travel tips for those who are next in line.

There’s something about the dentist that stokes the most primal fear in children. Thosevisits seldom go smoothly and it can seem like the journey from home to the dentistoffice is a constant battle that test the very limits of your parenting ability.

For kids, a visit to the dentist represents a laundry list of things to fear: sharp objects, loud noises, people with masks prying around inside their little mouths. Here’s abreakdown of those scary things that make your kid hate the dentist.

1. Needles

That needle a dentist uses to inject Novocain may be the scariest in the entire medicalprofession. Not only does it feature that massive thumbhole for the doctor, but the needleitself is likely as large as any your kid will see in his or her lifetime, and, it’s about to bein their mouth! If that needle looks big to you, it probably looks like Excalibur in the eyesof your child. But this can be avoided. Search around for a dentist that uses electronicdevices to for anesthetic delivery. This recent development is gaining steam in the dentalcommunity and has become increasingly popular with children.

2. The Drill

As sure as the cart follows the horse; the drill follows the needle. Although it’s somesmall relief that the Novocain numbed your child up before the drilling and filling, thesound, vibration, sucking and spraying is enough to introduce your child to a new level ofhorror. But fear not, many pediatric dental offices have ways to make this experience lessscary for kids. It’s important that you not only choose a good dentist, but one who alsohas a good staff in terms of dental assisting.

3. The Apprehension

To a kid, the hours before the dentist visit can feel like walking the Green Mile.Anticipating a trip to the dentist is enough to put anyone one edge, but children tend todeal with anxiety a bit differently, such as fighting you with every ounce of their being. It’s the apprehension that leads to a total breakdown in the parent-child power structureand you’ll have to bring you’re A-game when the protest really starts to get ugly.

4. The Other Kids

If you’re at a pediatric dental office, what’s the first thing your kid will notice? The otherkids, and odds are they look every bit as freaked out as your child. All you can do ishope some other swollen-faced, utterly bummed out kid doesn’t come walking out of anappointment, because you’re in for it if your child catches a glimpse of his or her future. But again, if your dentist is good and the staff was trained by any number of certifieddental assisting schools, they will help set your child’s mind at ease.

5. It Hurts

There’s no avoiding this one: going to the dentist hurts. The initial shot from that needleis anything but numb. What’s worse, your child may come out of the Novocain numbnessto learn he or she had been inadvertently biting their cheek and tongue. It’s a painfulrevelation. But if you have some ice chips on hand, that should help ease the after dentistpain. Consider investing in some children’s aspirin as well.

6. The Smell and the Sounds

The drill always smells like something burning and when it’s running that sound isenough to drive a kid up the wall. There’s also a distinct noise made every time thedentist prods around with that hook and mirror. The entire dental office usually smellslike sterilizing agents and antiseptic. It doesn’t have to be this way. A good pediatricdentist will provide a soothing atmosphere with air purifiers and even some kid-friendlymusic.
It’s important to remember however, that no matter how many things there are to terrifyyour children, good parenting and a good professional dentist and staff can take a lot ofthat fear out of visiting the dentist.

So you’ve worked your butt off all week, and it’s Friday night. You decide you want to head to the movies for some much needed relaxation and entertainment. You decide to go and watch Battle: Los Angelas based on movie recommendations from a good friend.

Alright so your half way through the movie, realizing that this is one of the worst recommendations ever. You text message your friend in a rage, informing him/her that they now owe you the $15 you sank into watching this stinker.

Maybe your friend has really poor taste in movies, maybe they were intoxicated, or maybe they gave you terrible movie recommendations as some kind of sick prank. Whatever the reason, its time for payback.

5. Make them a tasty fruit (Laxitive ) smoothy

This comes in at number 5 because it is basically just mean. While this will make you feel like you have got your payback, it will be followed by guilt when you hear the painful moans of your friend echoing from the bathroom.

If you are feeling particularly soul-less, do this prior to heading out for an evening on the town. There is nothing worse then using a nighclub toilet to make make #2 on, especially for an extended sitting.

4. Smoke them bad movie recommendations of your own

Going back to the days of Hammurabi’s Code where it was an eye for an eye. We won’t be pulling any eyes out, but getting your friend back with a brutal movie recommendation will bring you back to even.

This comes in at #4 because while it gets the job done, it severly lacks originality points and might be easy for your friend to clue into. The only reason this sneaks past the laxitive smoothy is because of pure amount of evil involved in that plot.

3. Set them up on a horrible blind date

No explaination required here. It’s awkward, it’s boring, and it’s definatly a lot worse then sitting through a bad movie. This has the potential to top this list, it’s only held back by the fact that it actually would take some effort to set this up.

2. Get them 2 tickets to that thing….that they don’t really like

You friends not into boring plays but their significant other is. Nothing says payback like giving their partner 2 tickets to the opera.

Your payback is not complete until the fat lady sings….literally.

1. If they have kids, buy a toy that makes a ton of noise

This tops the list because this is the payback that keeps on giving. We all know that children love noisy toys. Your friend will curse your name every time that noisy toy makeing loud noises.

Use this method of payback with extreme caution, especially if you have or are planning on having kids. Your friend will not forgot this special present and there is a high probability that you will have begun a toy war where nobody wins….except the kids.

The thought of grandma or grandpa driving can be nerve-racking for many families, and that is where devices like GPS vehicle tracking units can come in very handy. Especially engineered and designed, these vehicle tracking devices help to keep a watchful eye on the driving activities of seniors.

Live vehicle tracking systems provide families with eyes in the sky that helps to monitor the driving skills of their elderly parents, while allowing them to have their independence. If there is reason to believe that grandma or grandpa is a danger to themselves or others on the road, then GPS vehicle tracking allows the family to access the driving activity live from a distance. The information can then be converted into easily legible text reports that can be used to make further decisions. Since the tracking units can easily and permanently be installed in the car, there is no need to deal with replacement of batteries or worry about having the unit removed by the elderly driver.

Personal tracking systems are similar to GPS vehicle tracking and can help to keep track of loved ones who have memory issues. The devices have the ability to watch grandma or grandpa’s mobility and verify if they are present in a designated area. The information can be retrieved anytime since the systems operate nonstop. Such a tracking system alerts the family if the elderly person wanders off, is safe inside or around the house, or if they are making the scheduled doctor’s visits as required.

Tracking systems provide security and a peace of mind to everyone involved. As an added security measure, it is possible to set fundamental boundaries and if the boundary is breached, an alert is sent telling the family that the person has left the safe area. Since people suffering from Alzheimer’s disease tend to wander off and may end up placing themselves and at times others in potential danger, the use of a tracking device helps to limit this possibility. With the continuous improvements in technology, GPS tracking devices are getting smaller and easier to carry around. The wearable device is hardly noticeable because it is worn like a watch, but allows one to “see” that their loved one, be it an elderly parent or a child.

The GPS vehicle tracking systems and other private tracking devices do not need the purchase of expensive equipment to keep track of a loved one. Even cell phone companies make this option available. The only drawback with the cell phones is that the GPS data cannot be accessed directly. Precise location requires the use of wireless network technology and the data can only be made available if an emergency call is made.

While vehicle tracking systems may raise trust issues with teenagers and things like cell phone tracking might seem like an invasion of privacy, the fact remains that such safety devices also protect the family, should the need arise. Since a GPS vehicle tracking can potentially help to keep a teenager out of a life threatening accident or help to save the life of an elderly parent, the trust or invasion of privacy are small issues in comparison.

If vehicle tracking is not an option, then the latest software available can turn the typical Java-enabled mobile phone or a PDA mobile phone using Windows into a personal tracker. It allows the tracking of children, employees, or lone field workers and the best news is that it costs nothing. Certain services even provide RSS feeds which allow the data to be placed on a personal website so private collection of maps can be built and displayed with the service providers of one’s choice. Some of the features available include real time tracking, two way messaging, SMS or email alerts, storage of previous history tracks, daily reports and the distance traveled. This software that can be downloaded easily.

GPS receivers are being miniaturized to the point that now they are made up of just a few integrated circuits, hence, very economical. That makes the technology accessible to almost everyone. Now GPS is employed in everything from new cars to boats, planes, farm machinery, construction equipment, and even laptop computers. Keeping track of people and possessions has never been easier.
